How eGate Technology Group collects, uses, and protects personal data across our websites and enquiry channels.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the eGate group of companies (“eGate”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal data collected through egatetec.com and our related enquiry channels. The group comprises eGate Technology Group and its subsidiaries, including eGate Egypt, an Egyptian limited-liability company. We are headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and operate across the UAE, Egypt, and Nigeria.
For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the relevant eGate entity that determines the purposes and means of processing your personal data acts as the data controller. Enquiries about this policy can be sent to info@egatetec.com.
2. The personal data we collect
We collect only the data we need to respond to enquiries and operate the website:
- Information you give us through the contact / briefing form: your name, work email address, organization, country, area of interest, reason for contacting us, the content of your message, and your consent confirmation.
- Technical information collected automatically when you visit: your IP address, an approximate location (city, region, country) derived from that IP address, browser and device information, and standard server-log data such as pages requested and timestamps.
- Correspondence you send us by email, WhatsApp, or other channels, and our replies.
We do not intentionally collect special-category (sensitive) personal data through this website, and we ask that you do not submit such data in the free-text message field.
3. How and why we use your data
We use personal data to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the briefing, information, or follow-up you request;
- record and honour your communication preferences and consent;
- operate, secure, and improve the website and protect against fraud and abuse;
- maintain business records and comply with legal, regulatory, and accounting obligations.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis (for example the EU/UK GDPR, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, Egypt’s Data Protection Law, and Nigeria’s Data Protection Act), we rely on:
- Your consent — for example when you tick the box agreeing to be contacted about your request. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Our legitimate interests — in responding to enquiries, running and securing our website, and pursuing business development, balanced against your rights.
- Performance of, or steps toward, a contract — where you engage us or ask us to take pre-contractual steps.
- Compliance with a legal obligation — where the law requires us to process or retain data.
5. How we share personal data
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers acting on our behalf, including our website hosting provider, our email-delivery infrastructure, and an IP-geolocation service used to estimate the approximate origin of enquiries. Our website also loads web fonts from a third-party font service, which may receive your IP address as part of delivering those fonts.
- Other eGate group entities, where needed to respond to your enquiry.
- Authorities, advisors, or successors, where required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a corporate transaction.
Service providers are permitted to use personal data only to provide their services to us and under appropriate confidentiality and security commitments.
6. International data transfers
eGate operates across the UAE, Egypt, and Nigeria, and some of our service providers operate in other countries. As a result, your personal data may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from countries other than your own. Where such transfers take place, we apply appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable law — such as adequacy findings, standard contractual clauses, or your explicit consent — to protect your data.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above — typically for the duration of our correspondence with you and a reasonable period afterwards for business-record, security, and legal-compliance purposes — after which it is deleted or anonymised. Where the law sets a minimum retention period, we retain the data for that period.
8. How we protect your data
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and the principle of least privilege. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to review our safeguards over time.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out; and
- lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@egatetec.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
We aim to keep the website light. We use strictly necessary cookies required for the site and secure areas to function. Where analytics or performance measurement is enabled, it is used only to understand aggregate usage and improve the site; any non-essential cookies are used in line with applicable consent requirements. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works.
11. Children
This website is intended for business and government audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party websites
Our website links to other properties we operate (such as loderaiq.com and postagy.com) and to third-party sites and platforms. This policy does not apply to third-party sites; please review their own privacy notices.
